Song Yun began playing violin and erhu in her childhood, and went on to study with the master teachers in China, winning many awards and competitions, including the Erhu Excellence Award for erhu which is the top prize for erhu performance in the world. Now living in Vancouver, she is interested in both traditional Chinese music and Western Music, performing with colleagues in both traditions.
