Sungyong Lim

Sungyong Lim studied at the Yewon and Seoul Arts Schools, Korea National University of Arts and the Detmold Musik Hochschule. Among his many musical achievements, Sung Yong has received accolades from the DAAD (Deutdcher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) and from his performance at the German Chamber Music Competition. He continues to receive invitations for solo performances from organizations such as the German Johannes-Brahms-Saal, and Detmold Konzert Hause, as well as musical groups from Swiss Lyon, Lugano, Luxembourg, German Wuppertal, Dusseldorf, Bielefeld and Badmeinberg. Other performance requests include the celebrated Seoul Arts Center, Hoam Art Hall, Kumho Art Hall, Seoul University Art Hall, Korea National University of Arts Hall and Jeju Art Hall in Korea.
Sung Yong has also participated in the French Flaine International Masterclass and Courchevel Music Festival, as well as the Swiss Lugano Music Festival, Swiss Sion Music Festival and the Maestro Navara Music Festival. Sung Yong has consecutively played the principal cello of Germany Detmold Orchestra and Mosy Chamber Orchestra. He performs extensively in chamber music groups and is currently cellist with the Borealis String Quartet.
