Pianist Robert Silverman’s distinguished career has included performances in North America, Europe, the Far East and Australia. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras on three continents, and with every major orchestra in Canada. He has recorded over 30 CDs and a dozen LPs. His recording of Liszt’s piano music received a prize from the Liszt Society of Budapest, while his set of the complete sonatas of Beethoven was short-listed for a Juno Award. Dr Silverman taught at the University of British of Columbia for thirty years and was Director of the School of Music during the 1990s. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters in 2004, and has recently been named to the Order of Canada.
