Vocalist Laura Landsberg’s talent comes naturally; she is the daughter of world-renowned trombonist and composer Ian McDougall. “I was born in London, England while my father was playing with Johnny Dankworth, and he used to play Laura to me on his trombone when I was a baby,” Landbserg says with a tinge of shyness. Although Laura has been described as “… a remarkably fresh and unpretentious singer,” perhaps Paul Grant of CBC Hot Air put it best when he stated, “With so many singers trying to sound like someone else, it’s a treat to hear Laura Landsberg’s fresh and original voice… she’s a natural.”
