Heather made her solo debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the age of 17, performing Mozart’s concert for flute and harp. Since then, she has established herself as one of Vancouver’s leading freelance flutists. Heather supports vibrant teaching studios at the Vancouver Academy of Music and Saint George’s School, and performs as an extra flutist with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being a much sought-after chamber musician, she is active in organizing concerts in expected and sometimes unusual venues. Heather, an alumna of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, in turn devotes much of her time to teaching the next generation of young musicians, including travel to Belize to teach in the national youth orchestra program there.
