Tyler Cairns is a bass trombonist originally from Ontario who has recently become a new addition to the Calgary music scene. He is an active freelance musician in the area frequently playing with many groups. Mr. Cairns has played with the Calgary Philharmonic, Kingston Symphony, National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Banff Festival Orchestra. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Music from the University of Toronto and an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers include Jeffrey Hall, Gordon Wolfe, Gordon Sweeney and Joseph Castello.
