Lucie Jones

Dutch born flutist Lucie Jones (Batteké) is principal flute with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, an extra player with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and a former member of Symphony Nova Scotia. Lucie is an active chamber musician, soloist, teacher, founding director of the Chamber Flutes (MRCF), founding director of the Flute Club of Calgary (FCC), and an adjudicator and clinician.

A winner of the University of Calgary 2005/2006 Concerto Competition, Lucie performed as soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Lucie was also a winner of the 2008 and 2010 National Flute Association International Performer’s Competitions. Lucie has been a featured performer with Rosa Barocca, the Instrumental Society of Calgary, the Red Deer Symphony Chamber Series, Land’s End Ensemble, Calgary’s Kensington Sinfonia, Mountain View Festival and a soloist with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian University College Orchestra.

As a member of various chamber groups, Looking Glass Duo, Storymusic Creations, New Odyssey 3 and Perfect Cadence Woodwind quintet, Lucie performs regularly throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
