Violinist Laura Reid has been involved with the classical music world since an early age, and after studies in the US and Canada, joined the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. She left the CPO in 2015 and her world has widened considerably since then; collaborations with artists in the pop world, entering the world of experimental music as part of Calgary’s Bug Incision concert series, regular collaborations with pianist/composer Mark Limacher as a duo and as co-hosts of Unprocessed, a radio programme on CJSW 90.9FM, and was recently named Artistic Director of Calgary’s chamber string ensemble Kensington Sinfonia.
