Karri Quan has been a chamber musician for over 33 years, and a violin instructor since 1995. Karri is a native Calgarian, and started playing the violin at the age of four. After studying at the Mount Royal Conservatory of Music, she moved to Toronto, where she completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance. She has worked professionally in various orchestral settings – symphony, chamber, opera, ballet and Broadway. She has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Civic Symphony, and the Calgary Fiddlers. As a founding member of the JEB String Quartet, Karri won the CIBC National Music Festival and an Alberta Achievement Award. She has been the Concertmaster of the Ambrose University Chamber Orchestra since 2016, and performs regularly with the Red Deer Symphony, as well as with her trio, Prosecco Strings. Karri is a Sessional violin instructor at Ambrose University, and continues to enjoy her life as an active, professional musician throughout southern Alberta.
