Born and raised in Vancouver, Libby Yu earned her doctorate in Piano Performance from the University of British Columbia. In addition to her performing career as a soloist and chamber musician, she is a dedicated teacher.  Libby was awarded a Diploma of Honour at the 13th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw, Poland, among three Canadian pianists to have ever been given this honour.  And, here in Canada, she won First-Prize in the 27th CBC Radio National Competition for Young Performers.  Libby has performed with symphony orchestras in the major Canadian cities, and was featured on in a performance with the CBC Radio Orchestra broadcast live to the European radio.
