Formed in 2006 by members of the Victoria Symphony in Victoria BC, the Emily Carr String Quartet has performed in the US, Europe and Asia, been featured with the “Music in the Morning” concert series in Vancouver, and participated in summer festivals at Stanford University and The Banff Centre. Their CD Hidden Treasure was nominated in 2012 for classical recording of the year at the Western Canadian music awards. For the honour of bearing Emily Carr’s name, the quartet thanks Emily Carr House, Victoria, BC. In addition to their participation with Health Arts Society’s Concerts in Care, the quartet also brings their music to school children in Victoria.
