Chiharu Iinuma

Pianist Chiharu Iinuma’s work as a chamber musician includes collaborations with musician colleagues in recitals, as a member of chamber ensembles, and as pianist for advanced performers at high level music competitions. She was invited to participate in the inaugural Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop at Carnegie Hall in New York. For many years she was the studio pianist at Indiana University’s Jacobs School for legendary teachers Joseph Gingold and Janos Starker. From 2001 to 2004, Ms. Iinuma was the Director of Accompanying at the University of Central Arkansas. Chiharu was born in Nagano, Japan. Following her graduation from Music School in Tokyo, she was awarded the Asahi Beer Arts Foundation Scholarship, which enabled her to study at the Indiana University School of Music where she received her Performer Diploma, Artist Diploma and Master’s degree.
