Patrick Reid

After completing a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at McGill University in 2005, composer and double bassist Patrick Reid quickly emerged as an exciting new voice on the scene. He has been based in Montreal, Toronto, and New York City and has released four albums of original music. In 2011, he was the recipient of the CBC Galaxy Rising Star award and been recognized by FACTOR, The Canada Council for the Arts, The Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, and The Ontario Arts Council in support of projects ranging from national and international tours, album production, and research and creation. As a band leader, he has performed extensively across the globe and has collaborated with many celebrated artists from around the world including: Christine and Ingrid Jensen, Ben Monder, Chet Doxas, The Bombadils, Tinalley String Quartet, Kelly Jefferson, Joel Miller, Denzal Sinclaire, and the Soulpepper Theatre Company to name a few. He currently resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife, singer-songwriter Angela Sande, and their corgi Raisin.
