Arthur Bachmann

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Arthur promptly accepted a job cleaning chairs for a major office building here in Calgary. In 1986, Arthur won a job as Violist in the CPO. Finding this more to his liking, Arthur still holds this position to this day. In 1997, Arthur became an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre. His compositions have been heard on CBC Radio, recorded on CD and been performed across Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2016, Arthur was honoured to write a flute concerto for Sara Hahn, entitled “Daughter of Elysium”, which was commissioned and premiered to much acclaim by the CPO.
