Olena Yanchuk2 SMALLER

Olena is a distinguished figure in the Ukrainian show-business scene and a passionate advocate for the singing tradition. With an extensive background in stage performances, studio work, and teaching, she brings a wealth of expertise to her craft, excelling in genres such as pop, jazz, and white (authentic) voice.

Her musical journey began with early music education and continued with studies at Pearson UWC in Victoria, B.C. In 2023, Olena expanded her expertise by earning a diploma in music therapy, supported by a scholarship from the Soroptimist International Club in Gdynia, Poland.

Throughout her career, Olena (stage name Rosava) has recorded and released five albums, including two beloved children’s albums under Comp Music/Universal/BMG/Peer licensee. As an accomplished singer and songwriter, she has also made significant contributions as a dedicated vocal teacher for both children and adults. Her innovative approach includes developing a unique music sensory course for preschoolers and a singing therapy course for adults.

With the beginning of the war, Olena was based in Poland, where she performed with the “Slowianska Dusza” band and recorded her new songs. She also taught authentic vocals for adults and music sensory courses for children at the Gdynia Cultural Consulate, thanks to a scholarship from the Institute of Dance and Song. Her commitment to community service is demonstrated through her volunteer work with UWC Ukraine and her therapeutic workshops for women affected by the war in Ukraine. Additionally, two of her songs were selected for the Happy Kids Foundation’s “Sensitive Bear” project, which supports Ukrainian orphan children.
Since her recent arrival in Nova Scotia, she has already been active, taking part in a charity concert with Halifax and Ukrainian musicians to support scholarships for Ukrainian children pursuing art and music.
